An experienced transformation leader steps in to drive Xomnia's growth as the leading Data & AI consultancy in the Netherlands.

Xomnia, the Netherlands' leading Data & AI consultancy, is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephan Hartgers as its new Chief Executive Officer, who joined as CEO on April 1st. With his arrival, Xomnia takes the next step in its development as a trusted partner for organisations that are serious about getting real value from data and AI.

The right experience for what's ahead

Stephan has over 25 years of experience in IT leadership, strategy consulting and digital transformation. At McKinsey & Company he led large-scale technology and operational programmes for major organisations. At Mobiquity he grew into the role of VP Digital Strategy, responsible for an international client portfolio and teams spanning strategy, data science and product development.

His background combines analytical depth, with an MSc in Econometrics, with hands-on experience building and scaling data, AI and digital product teams.

Stephan has already led the transition from staffing-led delivery to high-end consulting, at Mobiquity under Carlyle Group ownership. He knows how to professionalise an organisation without losing its culture, and how to build commercial capability without losing the directness and drive that make specialist firms effective. That combination is what Xomnia needs now.

Over the course of his career he has led large scale strategy and transformation programmes, built multinational teams, and brought AI from strategy into production across a range of industries.

A clear vision for what's next

The Data & AI market is moving fast. Organisations in every sector face real opportunities alongside real challenges. Xomnia helps them move forward in a practical, results-focussed way.

Under Stephan's leadership, Xomnia will focus on three priorities: strengthening delivery quality and commercial maturity across its services, expanding AI capabilities in areas such as agentic AI and sovereign AI solutions, and growing through targeted acquisitions and strategic partnerships.

"Xomnia has built something that is not to be taken for granted: a team with genuine depth, a strong reputation, and a clear position in a market that is only growing in importance. What draws me here is the combination of technical expertise and business understanding. Organisations that are serious about AI need a partner that speaks both languages. That is what Xomnia does. In the months ahead, I will be applying lessons from years of advising organisations on AI transformation - now from the inside." - Stephan Hartgers, CEO at Xomnia

Xomnia's focus on practical, results-driven AI transformation is precisely the territory covered in Stephan's forthcoming book The Agentic Organisation: A Complete Guide to AI Transformations, publishing May 1.

What this means for clients and partners

Xomnia's clients have always been at the centre of everything the company does. From AI strategy and cloud-based data platforms to next-generation AI product development, Xomnia's work is built on close collaboration, deep expertise and a drive to deliver outcomes that actually matter.

That drive does not change. If anything, it gets stronger.

Clients and partners can expect the same commitment they are used to, combined with fresh energy around strategic advisory, expanded AI capabilities, and an even sharper focus on delivery of large scale programs with results that create lasting business value.

A strong foundation to build on

Xomnia enters this new chapter from a position of strength. In recent years, the company has grown significantly, securing strategic investment from Foreman Capital, acquiring AI consultancy Aurai, and expanding its client portfolio across both the private and public sectors.

Stephan is ready to take that momentum further.

“Stephan is exactly the leader Xomnia needs for this next phase. He brings the commercial sharpness and the hands-on understanding of what AI transformation actually requires - not just as an advisor, but as someone who has worked through this from the inside. We have full confidence in him to build on the momentum of recent years and create lasting value for clients, for the team, and for the company.” - Maxime Rosset, Partner at Foreman Capital
